 Abstract: In the era of technology, social media has emerged as a pivotal element in the lives of individuals, especially teenagers. This paper investigates the influence of social media on adolescents, examining their academic behaviors, mental and cognitive capabilities, as well as their social interactions. Through a review of current literature, this paper underscores the potential for distraction and its effects on academic success stemming from excessive social media use. Additionally, this paper considers the multifaceted effects of social media on young people, taking into account the mental and cognitive transformations within the educational setting, while also addressing how the adverse effects of social media can be alleviated through proactive measures.
