Teacher Professional Development (TPD) is generally associated with pedagogical skills, instructional competence, and professional efficiency. However, contemporary educational challenges demand a more holistic approach that includes ethical awareness, emotional balance, reflective inquiry, and spiritual growth among teachers. The present paper explores the spiritual dimensions of teacher professional development from the perspective of Indian educational philosophy. The study examines the relevance of concepts such as Shravana, Manana, Nididhyasana, and Self-realization in developing reflective, compassionate, and ethically grounded teachers. The paper highlights that spirituality in education does not denote religious instruction but refers to inner transformation, self-awareness, value orientation, and realization of educational responsibility. Drawing upon Indian philosophical traditions and contemporary educational discourse, the study argues that spirituality contributes significantly toward holistic teacher development, emotional resilience, professional commitment, and transformative educational practice. The paper concludes that spiritual dimensions are essential for nurturing value-oriented and reflective educators in modern educational contexts.
