The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a transformative framework designed to revolutionize India’s education system, aligning it with the vision of Viksit Bharat—a developed, inclusive, and sustainable India by 2047. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a significant leap forward in India’s educational vision, aiming to align the education system with the rapidly changing needs of society and the economy. By emphasizing equitable access, skill-based learning, and innovative teaching methods, NEP 2020 aims to prepare a workforce capable of sustaining economic growth in a rapidly changing world. This paper explores how NEP 2020 can serve as a transformative tool to equip learners with the skills, values, and opportunities required for sustainable livelihoods. It discusses key policy reforms and their implications for inclusive growth, innovation, employability, and environmental sustainability along with addressing the challenges and proposing actionable strategies to ensure India's economic and social progress by 2047.
