Abstract: The Mŗcchakatika is a unique ten-act Sanskrit drama belonging to the prakaraņa type. It tells the story of Śūdraka, an expanded form of Cārudatta, ascribed to Bhāsa. The play's theme is a curious one, with characters from all societal levels showcasing intelligence and skill. The play focuses on love, friendship, and the caste system, with a political revolution subplot.
